Many years ago, when I was in my late teens and early twenties, I was somewhat interested in picking locks, but never got around to mastering it. I could pick simple locks, but nothing interesting. With the COVID-20 shutdown, I came across the Lock Picking Lawyer's YouTube channel. Thus, for my own reference, here are some links of interest:

  1. Lock Pick Canada

  2. Lock Picking Lawyer's YouTube channel

  3. Bosnian Bill's YouTube channel

  4. The Art of Lock Picking website

  5. Covert Instruments website

  6. Wikipedia

  7. How security pins work

Normally, I might try to add something of interest, but there is nothing of use I can add here. Enjoy.

Good locks

The Lock Picking Lawyer does have some good reviews, although these seem to be few and far between:

  1. The Abus Granit X-Plus 540 Bike Lock.

  2. The Kryptonite Evolution Chain Lock.

  3. PacLock.

  4. The Squire CP50 Combination Lock.

  5. The Easilok deadbolt.

These are here as much for my own personal interest as anything else...

One important point: never purchase a Master Lock. I have been purchasing Master Lock because, being ignorant, I was motivated by the name, which suggests competence. However, the combo box I purchased is so insecure that it is almost as easy to crack it as it is to unlock. Sad.
